Publications and ORCID
How students can get publications into Prograds and connect to their ORCID account
You can keep track of publications, conference papers, posters, and presentations in Prograds.
All these are Events.
- You can provision them manually as Events where you chooose
- You can create these Events by pulling in the data from your ORCID account.
Program administrators have a table in their Admin Tools to list all students’ publications.
To add publications and other academic output manually as Events
On your Student Progress Page just add an Event with the little plus button at the top of your Events list.
In the popup choose the type first.
When you choose Publication you’ll see more fields. Fill those in.
You don’t need to fill out the Start, Completion, and Due dates.
Make the Event Title whatever you want. It can be just the title of the publication or something like “Article in JATA”.
You can upload a pdf of the paper after you’ve created this Event. You just click onto it to open it again. once it appears on the Events listing.

To get publications from ORCID
First, go to your Profile page and add your ORCID. It’s in the middle of the upper part of the page. Put it in with all the dashes and no spaces. Include the letter at the end if there is one, like 0000-0002-1825-0097x.
Then when you add a Publication event you can click the Get Pubs from ORCID button.
Or, you can find this from the hamburger menu (three bars) at the top right of your Progress Page.

For Administrators
See a filterable table of Publications, Conference Papers, Presentations, and Posters on your Admin Tools page.
